Over the past few weeks BRH have been gathering essential everyday items to donate to communities in rural New South Wales affected by the devastating 2019/2020 bushfires and droughts.
One of our own, Leyu Fentie, was responsible for coordinating all donations and personally delivering them to the BlazeAid camp at Wauchope Showgrounds, New South Wales, last weekend.
“I delivered the donations that were so kindly given to me and the reaction was nothing but heartfelt thanks” Leyu said of her visit to Wauchope. “The volunteers will drive the donations out to the many farmers and their families who are camping on their own properties.”
Our car-full of contributions were distributed by BlazeAid volunteers to those fire affected families during the week.
We hope the donations helped provide some relief to the community as they overcome the devastation left behind by this natural disaster.

BlazeAid is a volunteer-based organisation dedicated to helping communities get back on their feet and rebuild in the wake of natural disasters. The volunteers often work in disaster affected areas for months at a time. BlazeAid have 26 active camps across New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia and as winter fast approaches the families left without homes, now camping and living in community centres, are in need of essential household items including blankets to help them through the months ahead. If you would like to donate you can find more information at BlazeAid.com.au. Every little bit helps.
